Health Matters: Women’s health research gets a boost

Padma Kaul (FoMD) has teamed up with researchers from four other provinces to compare pregnant women’s medication claims from pharmacies to the health of the mother and baby. Kaul says there is a lack of research on how prescription drugs can affect pregnant mothers: “If we don’t have data from clinical trials, then the next best level of evidence is from large observational cohorts.”
